Remuera library 2002

Additions and interior fit-out, heritage, Remuera, Auckland

Project Architect for CITY DESIGN LTD
Permission granted from Citydesign, now GHD

Internal alterations to the 1926 Gummer & Ford Library / Lecture Hall (NZIA Gold Medal, 1928) responded to the beautiful heavy timber ceilings, the contrast of plain rendered walls against dark timber detailing and the fine linear steelwork to the windows.

NZIA Regional Award (Heritage), 2004

(A Regional Award at that time is equivalent to a National Award under the current NZIA Awards system)

Contractor: Canam Interiors

Client: Auckland City Council
